well ive been haven to burn what I beleive is kimmels coal from tractor supply, but it don't seem to bad besides it seems like it has more of a moisture content then the reading I usually burn. but for whatever reason its been burnin about 20 degrees hotter on the far side of stove oppiste of the shaker handle. im gettin like 170 on shaker handle side and 190 on the other. runnin a little past half way on back controll knob, and mabey a 1/4 on ash damper. is this normal? I would think it shold be even temp all the way across top.

C, no hopper yet? Is she heatin the house well? If so I got 2 suggestions--1-keep doin what your doin! 2-stop thinkin & let the stove do what she does best! WAIT, another suggestion--lose the thermo & just enjoy a warm house. :) Ya still using 1 pail per day? Tending twice? Don't overthink it!! KISS

C, sounds like ac plan on the MPD--that black pipe will do just fine also till ya can do something different. Again, don't over-think it--I refer to it as mental masturbation!!! ;) Just enjoy. I'm at 40 lb. a day, tendin twice--empty pan every 24 hrs.

That's because heated air was some what trapped in the heat exchanger. When you turned the fan on, you blew the trapped heated air out.

Like Fred said; get'r hot & she'll blow hot!

Can't see in your profile pix what ya got. I gotta do them one at a time--just repeat steps above.
