I took a look at the stove today and overall was impressed by the condition. ( The nickel parts are in fair condition.) Does anyone know if there was a back piece of skirting for this stove? If there was it's missing. Also, I am attaching a few photos of something that I don't know what it is. It is located on the firepot in the back of the stove. ( It's rectangular) It's the only piece of the stove that has furnace cement covering an area on the outside. Like it's covering up a crack. Sorry, the pictures are kind of dark. Any thoughts? He's not real willing to come off his $1200.00 asking price so I am not sure about this one.

Thanks,
Mike

a pic with the light on the same side as the object would be good.

from what can be seen of the area in question. there's is no GOOD reason why that patch would be there.

my advise is "Danger, Danger Will Robinson"

even if this issue weren't present that is NOT a $1200 stove.

keep watching, the good ones, even unrestored, ARE out there and can be had much better than that.

good luck,
steve

Thats the over fire air inlet, that part may be cracked or part of it broken off. There is no rear skirt for this stove.. you should also know whats inside the fire pot to make sure all parts are there..

You need to find out what is under that cement. You can see that part in this photo..

Thanks grumpy. Your picture explains everything. The overdraft must have been broken off at some time. I am going to stay away from this one.

Thanks KingCoal. I agree, it's not worth it. I think the owner has too much sentimental value attached to it.

Glad you walked away -- to expensive for what it is.
