My earlier spreadsheets were found to have some embarrassing flaws, so I'm posting revised spreadsheets here. I ask that (if possible) a moderator kill my earlier 'Heat Loss /System Design Calc for Cast Iron Rad's & HWB's' thread where these two spreadsheets are to be found, and leave only this thread. If you downloaded either of these tools before, replace them with these versions.

There is a guide at this web-link: http://www.columbiaheatingsupply.com/page_images/Sizing%20Cast%20Iron%20Radiator%20Heating%20Capacity%20Guide.pdffifthg wrote:How do I determine the square footage of my radiator?
This will give you the sq-ft per section. Multiply the number of sections times the sq-ft per section to come up with total sq-ft.
Example: The radiator seen at the very top of the PDF web-link report I pointed you to above has 14 sections. If it has 3.25 sq-ft per section, then:
3.25 x 14 = 45.5 total sq-ft.
