Last week the local Soil and water Conservation District had their annual banquet of which Katie is a Supervisor. Anyway Walt Whitcomb, the Commissioner of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry spoke.
He is revamping his budgets and told the Soil Conservation District to expect budget cuts. With the new tax on taxpayers who make over $200,000; taxpayers who are well off, have houses in Florida, Nevada and California...they told the governor by the droves they have had enough of Maine and are leaving. Because of that they are now expecting severe tax revenue shortfalls across the board.
I believe the dog just bit the hand that fed it.
Who did not see that coming?
Myself, I think the new law is unconstitutional, at the very least it borders on "Taxation without Representation".
