May they RIP, the Great Lakes have had more ship wrecks than the Bermuda Triangle (at least that's what I was told)!

Wow, this is timely. I took a trip in October from Maine to Sault Ste Marie. Visited the locks and did go to the shipwreck museum on Whitefish Point. I have a picture of the Fitzgerald that I took with an instamatic camera back in 1972. The ship was going through the locks and I got the stern in the photo. I actually did not know that I had the photo until about 1995 I went through old photos. I was stationed at Kincheloe back then.

In October I reminisced about the old days, youth, good friends, adventure ahead. Spent a few hours in the Soo walking around, souvenir shopping (yuck, but now glad I did). I am wearing an Edmund Fitzgerald shirt now. Went to the now closed Kincheloe, it looks so small now. BOQ is being dismantled but everything else seems abandoned or occupied by businesses.

Ah, sorry to go on but somebody on here surely knows Kincheloe. That area has really rebounded with casinos and the Michigan recreation thing, I forget what they call it but it does work. The upper peninsula is a great place in a nice state.

Quite a tragedy. I want to say the lyrics Gordon Lightfoot wrote are very well read (and not sung) as entertainment for convalescent homes. I went every Friday and read, usually with themes. One week was cowboy poetry, and I dressed like a cowboy. Another was nautical verses and this was one that I read. Made for a great presentation.
