I was there when they did the inspection and watched the camera monitor and there is only a few cracks no missing pieces, I looked up in today ad well and there is no missing pieces as far up as I can see.
I removed my block off plate from below and looked up in and really got a good look at everything. I actually can not see any cracks in the liner its self, and it is most definitely not missing any pieces. The part I am more concerned about is the smoke shelf and smoke chamber itself before it goes into the flue. This is made out of brick, and looks like it has been filled in and repair over time with cement. All the bricks are in place and as far as I can tell the mortar is still in there. The whole fireplace is encased in brick on the outside as well. Should I be concerned about this? I'll try to get a picture.
If i was you,i would wash that chimney, scrub every square inch till those bricks & the flue shine like new, maybe even find a hi-temp wax to cover it all. That should cover you for using the fireplace on Christmas
Sorry,i just could not resist !!
Just go ahead & use that fine looking fireplace/chimney !!~!!!!!

I would tell you not to use it too if I stood to profit $1500 from it.
