Hello men

I picked up a model 155 today. The first question I have is the small box on the lower rear.....what is it? It got broke somehow. It was fine when I set it on the truck and I stopped at rural king to pick up some wood pellets and that is when I saw the damage. If anyone has one I could use one. Also is there an exploded view of the Florence somewhere? Im not sure the parts for that box are all there. Thanks men.

It's a 77. Some parts are still outside. I just pulled it in out of the snow tonight. Ill have to get it in the basement to work on it. The last pic shows the damage. The corners are broken where the bolts are. That will need replaced and I think there should be more to it. Looks like something is missing. They have a cotter pin stuck in it.

Your missing the screw on the rear intake, looks like it broke off, was that the damage ? the right side of the fire pot looks strange, does it have the air ring?

The damage is the flanges on the corners with the thru holes for the bolts. They are actually broken but still held on by the bolts. I may be able to weld them back. I suppose worse case scenarios, I send it off to be cast, ouch$$$$

I see the screw in the link posted now. I wonder if that is an acme screw.

How many corners ? If you have 2 or 3 that are good furnace cement will patch it up, I have one broken and that's what I did and it has been fine for years.. Its only cold air intake..

Two top ones. I think that's all there are. The bottom of this detail has a shoulder flange that sits in a recess in the detail beneath it. I'm not sure cement would hold it. It appears that the screw (im missin) would exert some pressure on this detail when it's being turned.

I couldn't locate an air intake box for your stove online.
I did find Grumpy's restoration thread though: I Thought I Would Share. Hot Blast #153 Restoration

Hey Grumpy

I read your restoration of the 153 and you made some references to your 77. Did you figure out how to run it? I kind of got the impression it wasn't exactly your favorite stove. Can you shed any insite on it's behaviour?

How much coal does it hold? What kind of burn times are you getting?

Its been awhile, I don't burn coal often, I would say about 50 pounds, can't help much with burn times, I did go 20 hours once but it was not that cold out.. Sorry I can't help more, I burn wood most of the time since its free and coal by me cost more than NG..
