Coal Insert Install

I'm picking up a coal insert on Friday. My plan is to install it the following way.

Of course it will be going in my fireplace. My idea is to run a piece of 6" flex liner up into the Chimney to get it above the smoke shelf. I already have a plate made of sheet metal that covered the damper, so I'm going to cut a whole big enough for the liner to fit through, the seal it up with fiberglass insulation. Once it's hooked up and the air gaps sealed ill slide the insert in to the desired depth. Anything else I should do?

If the chimney has a good draft then you are all set...
If it is too big and cold to heat up properly...
You may need to run the liner higher to the top...

It appears to be a 12x12 flue, I never had draft problems with my pellet stove, but that's different. I'll try it out this way and if it doesn't have good enough draft then i'll go clear to the top.
