Anybody looking for some Lehigh anthracite in the Pittsburgh area let me or LehighanthraciteMatt know. There are a couple businesses looking to become dealers, but want to see a couple more interested people. Let's get some Lehigh in our area

The issue with Lehigh here in Western PA is always the price, which normally requires a triaxle load minimum. Splitting a load has the issue of how to evenly divide/weigh it.

A stocking dealer, or even on an "as ordered" basis, with scale capabilities, would be interesting. Then there is the the size(s). A variety.

How close to Blairsville/Ligonier area are you talking, and what kind of price for buckwheat?

PS- I'm using Reading now and quite happy with my local dealer. They do not have Lehigh, though it might be possible to put a bug in their ear ;)

Have you been burning the Reading Coal that is dominate in your area?

They (HEET Inc.) will not stock my Pea Coal size requirement in bags or bulk either.
They will get me pallets of Pea bagged if I order what I want in April. But I prefer Bulk.

I didn't know there were differences in Reading coal?

My dealer is Harper and Gallo. Great people.

My thoughts are to try some Lehigh if it is coming into this area. If it is as much of an improvement as many claim... I can't speak for them, but I would speak to them about it ;)

If someone is bringing Lehigh buckwheat into this area, I'll try a ton, which is about a month's supply for me. See what difference, if any, that it makes.

I'm also not against trying rice at some point.

My thoughts are buckwheat is good, any mixtures would make it a mix of buck and rice, whereas getting rice any mixtures would be rice and dust. That's my biggest concern on size at this point.

I am not interested in bags, either.

Everything we're setting up here is for bulk material handling (coal vac, coal bin, hopper, etc)

I'd be surprised to see anything other than Rice & Nut sizes.

Well, gotta stock what the market wants.

For me it doesn't make sense to do bags. Installing a coal vac system so we don't have to carry and dump buckets by hand. Why would I want to do it with bags ;)

But...bags work for some. Maybe I'll just stick with the Reading.

Well, Mcgeiver I currently use reading cause that's all I ha e near me. My complaint with reading is tons of fines and sticks. You should have seen the ton of loose bulk nut coal I got from Russell Brothers (Heet Inc), it was dull and it out off a dull yellow flame no blues at all and I couldn't get no more than 10 hours before it was going out

First pic the coal to the right is fresh bagged and the coal on the left is the bulk nut. Last pic is my fire at 10 hours. Maybe it is just the dealer idk! Coaliscoolxwarm I guess I could try your dealer and see what he has. I used to burn kimmels from tractor supply and I always did good for me 18-24 with no problem, but it's gone

I get buckwheat. Believe it is $215/tn, with delivery options available. I don't know if they have nut? (814) 749-0447.

Someone else 'special ordered' it and didn't pick it all up back a few years ago. I got it after a conversation about wanting Pea and them not carrying any at HEET, Inc., and it turned out this had been sitting in coal yard with no requests for it....we struck a deal and we both benefited. ;)

I'm pretty sure this guy sells pea size. I'm not sure if he has it in bulk. I know he does sell bulk in those big bags. It would be worth a call if he is not too far from you.
