Coffee, Christmas Eve 2016

Coffee, Christmas Eve 2016

PostBy: Freddy On: Sat Dec 24, 2016 7:49 am

Merry Christmas! Ohhh, we have a special coffee today.... it's flavored with a touch of Christmas. Yummmm. There's even Yule tea if you'll have it. Join in the wonders of the days to come.

Pancakes of course will be flying ff the griddle.... tree shaped....Santa shaped, and Bell shaped. I'd like to have star shaped too! Who spiked the syrup with a dab of nutmeg?

I hope you all have a wonderfully peaceful and warm Christmas. Bless you all for the hard work you did in the past year, and here's cheers to many more.

Tonight at midnight we complete the manger. Silly little thing....my Dad would never allow the statue of the baby Jesus be put in the display until Christmas day.

We got the tree done after midnight last night LOL.... arghhhh! Here's a pic....with the angel's head cut off. Yipes!

Forward we go!

Good morning and Merry Christmas Eve to all!

Heading out to get the janitor job done for the weekend then to the store for the last two things. I hope I survive the shopping. I went to KofP mall last night and almost didn't make it out alive - besides getting lost in there, those shoppers are tough.

Good morning Freddie. I would just like to say that the best part of the coffee house is not the food as you might expect , rather its your imagination. I find it inspirational. It is truly a special gift. Merry Christmas to all you rock burners out there...

I completely agree!
Freddy, when I was a kid, we didn't place baby Jesus in the manger until Christmas morning either. Funny how those things stick with us...
Merry Christmas to all!

Freddy, I must say I really like that Idea, a little tradition yes, but silly? no.
I missed the post about your pupper, so my sincerest condolences, a sadness indeed.

Accomplish the things you need to today, make mirth along the way, but pause and reflect on the Gift we have been given.

Merry Christmas to all! Breakfast is wonderful as always. I'll throw in the bacon. We don't get bacon as often anymore so it's "holiday" bacon.

We are green and wet, too. We are looking for a high of 50* once this rain clears off. I'm elbow deep in my holiday tradition of preparing pans of cinnamon rolls for select friends and family to bake up on Christmas morning. I never know who's going to receive a pan until they are all formed and wrapped. Some are easy like family and some receive them just because it feels right. This year I'm cutting back and will only deliver 12 or 15 pans.

I made the dough over the last day or two and put it zip loc bags - it keeps well in the refrig - today I'll make up the rolls. The coal stove plays a part, too. Before rolling the dough out I have to bring it to room temperature so I place the ziploc bags of dough around the stove. It really speeds up the process and the dough rolls out much easier. Sorry, no pictures but the scale will be witness to the cinnamon rolls. ;)

Wishing everyone at the NEPACrossroads a Merry Christmas, be safe, Lisa
