Need new worm shaft

Need new worm shaft

PostBy: mooseman100 On: Mon Dec 26, 2016 2:41 pm

So my shaft broke, the piece coming out of the stoker, looks like it was about 46" long. From there it was screwed into a coupler and then an extension piece that is about 55" long. At minimum i need the shaft coming out of the stoker and new coupler. I would like to have a two piece feed tube and maybe a shorter extension, probably 36-48" long. Dead in the water at the moment and efm is closed until Wednesday morning. Would like to get things moving as soon as possible

You can weld the old coupler onto the old shaft where it broke. Get back in business and cheaper too.

Yeah considered that, not sire if we can keep it true, figured a wobble in 8' long totla shaft might not be good. Could create another jamb

Three small rods as a splint, each attached with a tight band clamp (ie big hose clamp) or zip tie. Hold it true and tack between the rods before removing them and filling in the weld.

Of course that depends how large your axle is ;)
