OK, thanks for the advice, and to everyone else with their input. I'll look into installing Malwarebytes, and let you know what transpires.

Really?! My new computer, that I purchased fully loaded with windows 10, and MacAfee, and you're saying it'll expire in 90 days? If that's the case, it definitely won't be MacAfee.

Because of popular demand, I just installed Malwarebytes, and was wondering if the program is "self actuating", or do I need to accomplish some extraordinary function to make it work properly?

Just open the program, click update, then click scan. The free version needs to be manually run

If it finds anything after scanning make sure there is a check in the box next to the items then remove

Most times they will be checked but sometimes with "PUP" (potentially unwanted program) they won't be

How often should I run this manual scan?

Its good but I have the best luck with malwarebytes and a follow up with hitman pro but only for the really tough infections.

When a computer is badly infected its best to use multiple applications to be sure you get it all, for general use before bad infection spybot is fine

How many of these individual programs are needed to protect a common PC? I was under the impression that the sole purpose of an anti-virus security program, is to protect us from "everything". Now I'm getting the impression, even a secondary back-up system like Malwarebytes isn't enuff, that a 3rd ones is needed too? Isn't there one system that does it all?
