Coffee, New Years Eve 2016

Coffee, New Years Eve 2016

PostBy: Freddy On: Sat Dec 31, 2016 7:05 am

Wait for it....wait for it.... "Happy Ne...." No, not yet! Gotta wait til midnight!

Come in my friends. The tea & coffee are hot & the friendships are cool. Thank you all for bringing the coffee house to life. Without you it would just be an empty room. OK...what shall we have for the final breakfast of the year? Buffet! Just look at all those warmers. I smell sausage & bacon, I see scrambled eggs and toast. I hear people talking of having a roast! There's muffins, there's biscuits, there's jelly galore. Eat what you like, come back for more! The flavors are dancing on tongues with delight. The coffee has flavors we wished for all night. Yowza! It's going to be tough to beat this one! Enjoy my friends, but, ya know what? Next week might even be better. :)

We had 4 inches of snow yesterday. It weighed the same as 2 feet! It took out the power from 4AM to 10AM. I spent most all of the day moving snow. My Rhino shelter had a partial undoing. I've had it for 4 years and have seen 2 feet of snow on it, but that 4inches yesterday pulled the fabric up over one edge. Weird. I got it roof raked & back together.

RIP to all those that left this world this year. Forward we go.

Mornin everyone.
What a great breakfast idea Freddy, something special for everyone. The storm brought 6 or so inches to my place, it was a fluffy snow, very easy to move. It'll be gone quickly though, supposed to get to 43 today and into the 50's by tuesday.

Take care and be safe all.

Good morning everyone,

Great breakfast Freddy. Everything looks delicious. I saw a few flakes yesterday afternoon but than I blinked and they were gone. Thankfully, that happens a lot in Northern VA.

We don't have much on the calendar for New Years Eve. I'll watch the Blue Ladies dance and finish off the book I got for Christmas. Happy New Years to all; may peace be with you and yours, Lisa

No overnight snow for me, but it is 4 degrees outside and supposed to start blowing and snowing later today. If I am feeling ambitious I might put the snowplow back on my truck. I've got a nasty chest cold that has really been slowing me down.

Headed to a kid friendly party at the neighbors tonight. Stay safe.

come on Freddy the suspense is killing me!!
Thats a very good menu for the coffee house on the finial day of 2016 :), I know I am looking forward to 2017 although 2016 wasn't real bad except the last 2 months :( but life must move forward and were going with a open mind.
We are having the service for my father on Wednesday although we were trying to do it yesterday but with all the paperwork and the Holiday it wasn't going to happen.
We are going to stay home tonight and relax, I am smoking a beef brisket this afternoon for dinner and drinking some sort of alcoholic beverage :shots: not sure what yet but I'm sure we will make something good. Have a Happy New Year, stay safe, and enjoy :D

Now THAT sounds like a good idea. I am headed to get a huge prime rib later today for tomorrow afternoon.

Try some eggnog, nutmeg, and a shot of Canadian Club...it was one of my grandfather's favorites for the holidays, along with a bloody mary with too much horseradish. ;)

Morning all,

I slipped in the side door while you weren't looking and headed right toward that buffet table. Damn there is some really good food for the soul on it. Working today probably most of the day. Trying to get an undertaker's van completed. Poor guy hit a deer on the way to pick up someone's loved one.

Yes I am really looking forward to seeing the new year come. Too many good people have left us this year. And the final one to go was the inventor of the red solo cup !!!! http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/29/health/re ... eath-trnd/

It just can't get any worse than that.... So when you are at your parties, please toast 1 up for Robert Leo Hulseman !!!!!! :drunk:

Barry, I hope the services go without a hitch for you. My Mother in Law decided she wanted no services at all. She was cremated and we will be combining her ashes with my Father in Law's and it looks like we will place some in the front flower bed surrounding the garden fish pond that they both enjoyed. The rest will be placed down by our farm pond. Of course that will have to wait for spring.

Freddy, I'm surprised you got so little snow. I guess it's true...location, location, location. I was talking to a friend on mine who lives in Windham and he got close to 2 feet of snow.

Take care everyone. I'm going to be gone for a little so I'll see you next year..... toothy

Hello Everyone. !!
Most of our snow melted away last Monday, we had a warm, 50* rain that day. Only a few old snow-plowed piles remain.. along with the sod and driveway gravel that I usually see only in the spring.. :-).. but I don't feel ambitious enough to go out and pick up the sod or rake the gravel back into place..

Take care everyone, hopefully I'll step back in before the weekend is over..

Wishing everyone a Healthy and Happy New Year !!

LAST ONE !!!

So Glad to share it with this Carbon-Burnin' Bunch !! As usual,2016 was a real hit-n-misser for Everyone here ! Man,I do believe Members here have had a terrible toll taken in the form of physically losin' Loved Ones..... We do seem to specialize in sharing the experiences, picking one and another up,dusting off, steam cleaning and even heavy duty soaking to recovery of All Those Affected !!

Enough of that ! Cryin' Out Loud,We've also had Loved Ones Born,Married,Shacked-Up and even a Plethora of Positive Life Changing Experiences that make where You Live A Home !! :dancing:

We've had New and New To You Black Rock Burnin' Appliances waltz through the doors of many Humble Abodes ! We've seen some new Coal Storage Areas get set-up. Talk about controlling a Heat Budget !

We had my first, and as far as I'm concerned, one Helluva Good Coal Meet-N-Great at Jack's #9 Mine and Grill ! Those Lehigh Folks bent over backwards at the Active Pit across the road to satisfy All of Us Demented Anthracite Coal Faithful !! What a Screamer ! Expect a Topic Thread to be created shortly in order to get a real good head of steam going for the 2017 version !!

And,while I'm making a Complete Oinker of myself on these here Belgian Waffles,Link Snausages,BACON!! and some rather lean Ham slices,I can't forget to Thank All Of You,along with Our Wildman Of A Host-none other than the Gifted and Fabulous Freddy, for slamming All of this together !! Man,I'm only as Good as those I'm with !! Evidentally,You Fine Folks have made everything alright !!

Thanx,Gang ! Go Ahead,Bring On 2017 ! I dare 'Ya !! :partyhat:
