power vent fan control

power vent fan control

PostBy: StokerBub On: Thu Jan 05, 2017 11:40 am

I have a Pioneer LE/T with a power vent with fan speed control. I have it set for the perfect draft and at various times it will go wild and run at max. I can adjust it back to the normal speed but it will run off again and again. Any Ideas?

 May be caused by pressure changes in the house envelope, cracking a window may alleviate some of this effect.

Does it have a locking nut? Is it slipping?

Get voltage readings of before and after you re-adjust the speed and report them back here.

Do you have a barometric dampener installed?

I have one on my 220 boiler also and mine is varies speed on it's own also. Usually my problem is trying to slow it down. I will set it and will be perfect and check on it hours later and it will slow down to the point where I won't have any draft. Barely touch the dial and it will take off and run too fast?? I now just leave it run a little fast and forget it, don't want to get into a no draft situation. I will be installing a chimney when I move the boiler.
