EFM DF520 Install

Rob, thanks for the heads up on the paint burning off once I fire up the boiler. I am not sure if it is high temp or not I know it has a primer and the gray paint there is primer only in the base.

The base is one of the older ones and it has been reinforced with extra metal since it looks like it was one that was rusted from a leaking DHW gasket.

I am planning on flushing out the boiler this week since I am not sure if I got all the mouse nest. I am thinking of using a garden hose and flush to the back of the boiler.

The nice paint on the fire door might not burn off if the door was insulated.

I have had some request of more information and drawings on the adjustable chain-fall anchor attachment. I did not find my drawings so here is some picture.

I have been busy with piping the boiler and had not much time but I hope these help.

Sorry again for the delay in getting this information to those that requested.

Is the plumbing done yet? Is the stoker in yet? Can we see the fire?

I used the garden hose and flushed the boiler out and it was good that I did because I flushed out more of the mouse nest.

Don yes I did get some of the plumbing done and you will like this part I used some of the by pass that you did on the BairMatic boiler.

Install is looking good. Piping the returns into both sides with steel pipe is fun for sure. I see the menagerie of fittings you have there look like they are from a big box store. Do yourself a favor and check out supplyhouse.com. It will probably save 40% or more from the box store. Shipping is free over $99, next day if ordered by 6pm. Check it out.

That looks great Myers!

With that full port valve set up you will be able to flush any other unwanted bits out of your boiler. It takes quite a bit of forceful persuasion to get one of those crossover pipes right, don't it!

Thanks Qtown, Yes I have purchased most of my fittings from supply house. I had to buy a few nipples for 1-1\2 from the box store to get that crossover to work out.

That was a little complex I had to take a short section of pipe and cut thread it for it to work out.

I did check supply house just last week for some of this section. I needed an iron cross and they said a week to get most of the stuff I would get in a day or two but the 1-1\2 was to much of a delay. I found the iron cross on Amazon and got with prime in two days.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a temp gauge I have an old one I just thought I should put in a new one?

I do also. Mine was a bit sticky, a shot of WD40 into the well freed it up, working great now.

Good job. :)
Aside from cost...sweating copper ftgs helps here w/o as many thread length match up issues. :)
