Hand Fed Coal Stove: Coalbrookdale

Post by REA » Mon. Jan. 09, 2017 7:54 am

So my coal dealer outside Smoketown, PA was forced to close [something about zoning I think] and I need to locate a new dealer. I'm in the general eastern Lancaster, PA area and I would normally just have my 1000-1750 lbs of Nut dumped in my F150 while on the scale. I'm certainly open to driving a but didn't want to necessarily go all the way to the breakers. I'd just like to get the hardest anthracite possible at a reasonable price.

They mentioned a place in New Holland, PA but someone else mentioned a some place in Quarryville, PA.

Any suggestions at all regarding suppliers or prices would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks is advance.

Reeses Coal just outside Quarryville at the intersection of Church Road and 372 has bulk and bagged. For bulk you weigh empty then go around the corner of the building to get loaded then back on the scale for the weigh out.

Good coal (blaschak), good people. never had a problem in all the years I've been using them. You should call them before going there to get current hours for loading since they may be out doing deliveries and to make sure they have the size you want on hand (717) 786-9730.

You could try F. H. Kreider which is just off Rt 283 there at 2400 Dairy Rd; Lancaster, Pennsylvania 17601. I got from them till I got a bulk load from Lehigh. Not sure what coal they carry (seems to vary) but it burned well for me, I do like the Lehigh better. I don't know what their current price is.
