Sorry but I don't think that bed is 80 cubic ft. that is what you would need for 2 tons of coal 4000lbs How deep is that box 4x2x8= 64 cubic ft 1.6 tons 40 cubic ft per ton two tons 80 cubic ft. Superior coal is 51 lbs per cubic ft 51x80=4080lbs
Well guess if you come up next week to the mine tour we could go to Superior coal and fill you up and see what there
scale says Greg Ls has the same truck and he will tell you the same thing that I am also Matthaus As the short box 4x2x6= 48 cubic ft. =1.2 tons My truck has a full size box 4x 19" x 8 =48 cubic ft = 2448lbs but the most I ever had on it was 2600lbs of Nut And I do not think the bed on any of the trucks are 2ft deep but I don't know maybe the Newer truck are 2 ft. deep I know the new fords are deep but I don't know how deep lets fill you up next week and found out Friday Morning the 30th is good for me Maybe Saturday Morning if I get more People for coal but it would have to be early like 6am must be at the breaker by 7am to give us enough time to make it to the mine tour for 9am I have Taken alot of People to breaker with all kinds of Pick ups and never seen one that would hold two tons with out some kind of sides on them so I would like to see it How far do you drive with that much on it I am also thinking about safety for People that have a real long drive like several hundred miles all loads have to be coveredon Interstates and Highways

Well I'd be very upset if I thought my coal supplier had been cheating me for the last 4 years. I've got weight tickets empty and full and that load was just over 2 tons, per the ticket. My bed is 5 1/2' wide. It's 4' at the wheel wells only. So 5 1/2 'x 2 x 8'=88. The humped up part accounts for the wheel wells.

I just measured the box depth and your are right, it's 19". So either the coal humped up in the center makes up the difference or my coal supplier has been cheating me for 4 years.

Are you coming up for the Tour & Meet on Saturday Morning or for Coal on Friday Morning if so we can Go to the Breaker and see what There scale says and compare your weight tickets with there's you don't need to get coal if you do not want
to We can Just use the scale There scale is checked By the state offten let me know I am very curious to see I Just don't see how your bed will hold 2 tons 5.5 x 19" x 8= 66 cu ft. x 51 lbs per cu.ft for the coal = 3366 lbs And you really don't have 66 cubic ft If you add the height width & lenght of the two wheel wells in the box it would be like 64 cu.ft x 51 lbs per cu.ft = 3264lbs

You might get two tons in if it's full of heavy rocks I can get one ton comfortable in my half ton dodge but it's only a 6' box.

On my 94 F350 the bed is also 5.5x19''x8' but if you measure 1'' below the rail for the total inside width it is 5' 10'' you gain 2 1/2'' per side. I also think that with rice it would fill better less air than nut ??? Anyhow my plan is to fill big Glaylord boxes then I can take them off with the fork truck. Just don't want to gross more than 12,000 lbs so I can be under my tagged gvw. I will be going to Carlisle next weekend. It is around 700 mile round trip so trying to kill 2 birds with 1 stone
