Hey guys, here is the latest project, Acorn Imperial baseburner. Getting ready for a tear down. Complete stove except side wings. Looking for a set if anyone has a lead. Grates and firepot in great shape. I'll post more as I continue but maybe a bit before I start.

Looks awesome! Definitely will be following along! I have to ask though, do the brake shoes come with it? They must really help slow down the fire....

Jack,
The shoes are needed because of the electric motor driven air feed. :D

That's going to be a beauty, Paned. And yes, we love pictures of progress, as well as finished stoves too. ;)

I don't see it in any of the pictures. Does it have the coal magazine with it ?

Magazine was missing as usual they always had a hard life. I do not have pics of side wings. Found a Royal Acorn stove pic but not a Imperial.

Did a quick test polish today on original nickel. I think it will turn out better than I expected. Polished with black highlights.

Nice, that contrast really makes the designs stand out.

What are you using for polish ?

Paul

I used Eastwood stainless polish on a 10" wheel. Then I do a tip from Mill Lake Metal Finishing. Paint the part black with spray paint. Then buff off with fine steel wool. Here is a link to his video. He does excellent work.

Beautiful. This will be magnificent when it is done. When you sit back and feel that heat radiated out of those mica doors and you see the stunning majesty of it right there.
You will realize that every hour and dollar put into it will have been well worth it.
