We turned around an Big Bob who is 65 years old was comingwith an 8 foot tie on his shoulders .He proceeded to get another tie .Bob worked mining some 35 years .If you ever visit no. 9 for the big fellow who has A chew of mailpouch tobacco in the left cheek of his mouth .Bob is a big guy who looks like john Goodman who played the husband on The Roseanne tv show .Jack

Jack, your buddy is in amazing shape for that age.

We used RR ties (not the smaller landscaping ones) a lot in the boatyards for winter storage of boats on land. So, those ties, and the cinder blocks they sat on, had to be moved around the yards alot. Those things were heavy !!!!!

Couple of times I was able to get one up on a shoulder and walk with it. But even as a 6 foot, 175 pound, strong 20 year old,.... just a couple of times and that was enough. Darn things are so heavy they leave a bruise on the shoulder.
