Here in mid Maine we got about 6" of dry snow.... but windy as hack & it's packed into dense stuff. 3 degrees this AM....looking to go below zero tonight. Winter is here!

We got about a foot in central CT with some drifting. As for the small machines, I trashed all my old 2 cycle ones. They were replaced with modern battery powered electrics. For my lawn tractor and snow blower I installed a fuel shut off. I run the carb dry and store the tank full with fuel additive. I have been doing this for years with good results.

And it continues tonite. More snow. Fortunately not as much as our Northern brothers. I heard sections of Canada have around 5', which must mean when the plow trucks are done, you'll be driving in tunnels. (Of snow)
And Bob. You keep teasing us with your Charger avatar.

We didn't get a ton of snow on the Cape 6-8ish heavy wet snow, and it sure was windy! Lots of power outages, broken trees, electric poles, etc. I was watching my stove very close as it would down draft frequently with the big gusts and that is with a typically strong drafting chimney! I was keeping an eye on the CO monitors! Blizzard conditions were met. I am hearing we might get some more tomorrow through Monday. Maine is supposed to get some serious snow from this one. I just put a new engine on the snowblower and was glad I did! Welcome winter!

Neighbors had their 'sleds' out...
A few homes down is a few hundred acres of woods...
funny seeing a sled trail on the side of the street...
Made me think I was up north...

We've had 6" or so over the past 5 days but we're waiting for a big one now. Depending where you look I'm looking at anywhere between 10 and 18" I have the plow equipped ATV and Tacoma gassed up and ready to go. I'll push back the existing banks soon and put something in my Mothers old enameled bake ware thing. The Vigilant is running so I think I’ll put a trivet on it and see what happens. I haven’t burnt anything yet but all I've cooked is water.
Thanks, Geno

It was till I got the truck. I plowed with an ATV for 15+ years. The snowmobilers have had a hard time around here till just recently. This storm will help a lot with all the winter activities and those who support them. Snow really helps the economy here in the winter.

And I for one am happy as a clam with the white stuff neighbor. Probably about 5 inches at the moment and a lull in activity. Had the sleds out, cleared the last trail for the year, did a quick packing/grooming job and back home with a nice glass of Fireball to warm up with. Bring on the snow!!Turbogeno wrote:The snowmobilers have had a hard time around here till just recently. This storm will help a lot with all the winter activities and those who support them.
