Winter Has Arrived.

Here's something you don't see every day. About a mile, and one half from home. Stopped at the 4 corners stop sign. Looked to my right, and saw dry road, with sun shine. Could see all the way up the road. Looked to my left, and it was white out conditions, with snow going sideways across the road.

Seen this with rain a few times, or so over the years. Never with snow.

Another thing I've seen in recent years is; A Vicious thunder, and lightning storm. The real violent, dangerous, scary kind. Like you'd see in a horror movie. What made this thunder, and lightning storm so unique, is that I could hardly see past my nose, it was snowing so hard (Not Raining).

I had a similar experience driving home from work yesterday. You could see large dark clouds moving with their own personal snowstorms under them but it was still sunny all around them. Pretty cool to watch these roll by! Still nice and warm in the old house though.... 8-)

2 major snow squalls moved thru here yesterday. Sunny skies went to cloudy with high winds which brought the wall of white & turned the greenish brown grass totally white in just a few minutes.

Major multi-vehicle pileups in several locations here in Pa. Had 1 of those wrecks on I81 in Schuylkill Co, with 1 fatality reported.

For us, Winter will arrive tomorrow. I thought I might get by this year without putting gas in the snow blower . No such luck. 12 to 16 inches of snow is more than the leaf blower will handle.

Same here. We're all bunkering in for the biggest baddest winter storm this state has even seen, in March, in 2017, in the 3rd week.
(But the wind chill will make it seem more like Antarctica).

You got that right neighbor! January and February were like Springtime. Here we are in March and Winter is just starting.

I didn't even get my snowblower out for the season until 2 hours ago!

Live in the Berkshires in western MA; snow starting Tuesday at 5:00 AM, ending at 9:00 PM the same night. Expected 18'' - 24" with 40+ mph winds. Nice March weather! Then another possible 5" on Saturday or Sunday! Happy St. Pats Day! Had 0 degrees at 7:00 AM on Saturday & Sunday mornings this weekend! Wife wonders why I want to move a little further south!

All the coal I need and two electricity free hopper fed stoves. Bring it :D Kubota will definitely get a workout, might need to fire up the generator for lights & water if the power goes out. Last report from Penn State said snow will continue in lesser amounts for the rest of the week. Global warming/Climate Change :?

Mostly rain again for The Cape...
but the storm center is supposed to be right over us...
Somewhere between Nantucket and the canal...
A little wobble in the storm will bring more snow...
or all rain...
Watchin' it closely...

Same forecast here in the Litchfield Hills in NW CT. Snowing hard here right now. I'll take the pickup out around noon to open up my road. Looks like the John Deere will get a good workout tomorrow. About six days of coal in the house and a fridge loaded with cold ones for later in the day. The Harman is humming right along, 70 deg. in the house now. Hope we don't lose power

Our forecast is for 12-24",we have easily exceeded 12",not sure how close we are to 24". Have yet to be inspired enough to go out in heavy snow driven by 40mph winds. Outdoors here looks all too much like it did in Jan. 2016 when we got 32". Lost 1 phone line so far, lites flickered once, hoping that the electric stays on.I am also hoping that the wind will blow enough snow OFF the roofs so that i don't need to do snow removal on the roofs. My son is off work today,so he will be able to help clean up this mess.

Got over 8 inches here in the Catskills already with a lot more to come. Stepson works for UPS in Hudson & they are closed today. He says this only the third time in over 60 yrs that UPS has closed due to weather. So just hunkering down here till this blows over.
