That's a great idea! I may give that a try. From what I'm reading above, it appears I have an older version of the vigilant, but I assume you still have the internal baffles. Can I ask, do you leave the internal damper open when you're that low, or do you still close it up to conserve heat?

when running at low heat I always have the internal baffle open so I can get maximum draft. I only close that baffle when I'm running it hot and I am sure I have enough draft.
