I have a 520 stoker and the coal wasn't burning right and I noticed a couple of the burner plates are warped and one has a hole in it; it still working and I lowered the coal intake to keep the fire even. I hate to tear it down for a fix in Feb; what is entailed to replace a couple of the burner plates and what kind of issues may arise in the replacement that may cause me grief. I would like to hold out until late April if I can. Any help out there? Thank you. Paul

The last set of EFM grates I bought was about $200. $525 seems way out of line unless there has been some dramatic price increase that I didn't hear about.

As for the AA grate, that thing is sure a beastly piece of steel. Keep the rollers working and the linkage in good shape and it should last two lifetimes.

For $525.00 there was a 'cast ring' included too.

As far as I know, the burn plates don't come from EFM with a "ring". $525 is way high even if it comes with the ash ring. The ash rings don't go bad!

I think my set was $325 from Mark's Supply.

Easy if your EFM stoker is inside of a Gentleman Janitor boiler! I honestly don't know how the EFM 520 guys put up with the lack of access panels. If you have a round door I'm pretty sure you have to pull the whole stoker out. Maybe I'm wrong?

If the burn plates have been in there a long time and anti-seize was not used, The nut/bolts will have to be cut off.
