I have not read the details of the ruling but I am sure he overreached and screwed everything up (again).

Why would anyone complain? Streams were meant for dumping waste in, otherwise why did God make them run downhill into lakes and rivers and oceans?

I'm not understanding if this thread is satirical or not. isn't this a "Pro coal" website? Don't we want more coal miners working, so not only will they thrive, and businesses needing the energy, but won't we as consumers benefit too? Do people think the EPA will allow these mines to pollute the waterways, and the companies themselves want the same accusations? As with anything, there may be some "exceptions", but as a whole, I believe the industries are careful in their methods and procedures.

I would look at this as promising as bringing back the horse & buggy, both have been in decline due to modernized production methods & lack of customers. The high employment times were long ago, I know for myself the conversation of coal to much cheaper natural gas was in the 50s along with most of the city I lived in. The steel mills were having their best markets & the exports used much as well, now very few actual steel mills & the conversion by many previous users to cheaper forms of energy along with modern energy saving equipment does the rest. There won't be any great influx of mining jobs just much more pollution & profit for the remaining mines which are mostly (for bit anyhow) the strip & mountain removing mines that employ few. I burn coal just like the rest but if I had the choice of cheaper sources I would probably slowly go that direction, rural America is one of the things that keeps the NEPA alive. :(

Did anybody on this site even bother to read the 1983 Stream Buffer Protection Act? Did you bother to read about how many regulations were added to it over the years? Just specifically what did Bush, Obama, and Trump do to the SBPA?

Try researching it before you jump out with unsubstantiated Trump is destroying all the water in the world type statements.

The only thing Barry ever worked hard at was his chip shot and he wasn't even good at that.

In the last 2 years 130 coal fired power plants have been closed. The trend is to move away from coal. Unless we are going to build the wall out of coal, I don't know why we would mine more. As has been said before, cheaper sources of fuel are killing coal.
