08 MINI COOPER-S

Yes,
I've bought into....the.....hype of the Copper'S (meaning it has a TURBO) hype. This is a road legAL go-kart. 0-60 times are well under 7 seconds, you will fly around corners as if you're on rails!

At 38-40 MPG and being nasty gas burner....even a enviro-nut will like this ride.

I don't know Ed. Being long of leg and having a perverse adversion to having my ass drag on the ground, I'm hoping they come out with the cooper truck. Scott

Scott, I own a Tundra club-cab 4x4 as well, trust me there is about the same room in the mini! I kid you not. Just for giggles, try one out, you'll be hooked ....I was.

My son is 6' 2" 230lbs and is heading out today to pick up his own new Mini, he, like you, couldn't believe how roomy this car is. BTW, it also has a safety rating of 4 out of 5 and of course 8 air bags surrounding you sure does help

Yeah, I can see how it would be easy to get hooked on one of those little screamers. High horsepower to weight ratio. I liked watching Charlize Theron tooling around in one of those in the movie THE ITALIAN JOB. 8 airbags you say? Sweet!!!! Scott

I don't think they are Turbo, they are supercharged, a little different. You can also get a smaller supercharger pully and it will get rid of the slight lag. It will spool up faster. My buddy has one and loves it! His is all tuned up and different wheels, he is a perfectionist when it comes to cars. He gets 38-40 as long you don't get a lead foot.

actually, it is aTurbo, (I can see it) I was told that 06 was the last year of Superchargers and now with Turbos they claim its power at 172 BHP.

I just came back from Jamestown RI visiting friends, and we let a few take it out for a drive....they all fell in love with it and one has already said she's buying one next week.

Ahh, maybe they have changed them...Not sure what year my friends in, but will ask....

We took a v6 mustang and put twin turbos on it and made over 300hp....

My son picked up his Silver "S" model, and we've since had two more people in Town tell us they are on there way to visit the MINI dealer. We best get some goodies for referals.

YOu're right, the newer ones are turbo, my friends is a 2003.

We saw a bunch of them on the hiway last weekend coming back from MI.
