Guys I have a Ryman English Setter .Today at a shooting preserve we did a execise run .He had 3 solid points .One was Breath taking .I need advice on a good camera that I Can Aim Like a Scope .To take pictures .Wife got me one that you position the Whole camera at dog .I wound up with scenery Above THe Dog .Cmon you camera guys please help .I plan to only take The Camera in the future an not the gun .The reward for me is the Solid Point Of My Dog .Today was mind blowing .He was trotting along an Slammed into a point .Need your help . jack

They do have a camera that you put a armband or similar on the subject and the camera will follow the tagged person (or dog in your case).

Filling the frame with the subject is basic. With a limited camera you go forward or back up to do this.

With the zoom capability of the cameras today, you can use the zoom to fill the frame with the dog. You do need though an eye level viewfinder that is pretty exact in order to follow the action. A fold out screen is too clumsy and sun will often wash out the view. More shaky as well as opposed to bracing against the forehead.

It need not be an expensive single lens reflex as long as it has eyelevel viewfinder. I use a Canon S3 which I think is obsolete now.

The dog probably hols the point for many seconds which is plenty.

The uploaded image is much sharper in the original.
