Considering Maryland does NOT issue birth certificates with raised seals, this could be a problem for some. My daughter was born in MD when I worked in DC and they simple do not issue themCoalJockey wrote:Ya Windy and now according to the letter that came here your birth certificate "must have a raised seal"
Photo booths only open a few days? Why? Most digital cameras take equal or better pics now, no need for special equipment or operators any more.
Good way to cut the budget: Eliminate 60% of DMV personnel. It's not as though it could get any SLOWER
Far too many people paid to do far too little, IMHO.

I wonder if all the questions that Penn Dot is asking for a DL renewal have something to do with Pa.'s last gasp extension on complying with the Real ID law. The original deadline for compliance was Jan., 2013. The state has gotten several extensions to comply, but is on it's last one that expires in a few months. Without Pa. going to the Real ID, nobody with a PA. DL will be able to get on a plane or enter a federal building, soon. I'm sure it will come at a penalty for privacy.
Penn Dot also eliminated the registration renewal stickers for license plates, beginning of the year. They claim a cost savings. How much can that amount to? I would guess that there are a hundred better ways to cut costs at Penn Dot. Supposedly, the cops have photo readers to scan plates to check expiration. I see it causing problems, especially if someone wanted an excuse to pull you over for an "expired" license plate. Three gasoline tax increases in four years ( highest fuel tax, by far, in the nation) and they need to eliminate plate stickers?

CT got rid of the plate stickers too. The reason being, the bad guys would just snap off the end of the plate and take it home to remove the sticker very carefully. You wouldn't believe the numbers of vehicles driving around with 3" missing from the plate ends. With the online world computers in cop cars now, it makes the sticker an expensive albatross.

Probably running a credit check on you. Insurance companies do the same thing. If you are a poor credit risk, some how that equates to being a bad driver.titleist1 wrote:[ The oral surgeon that pulled a couple teeth wanted my ssn on the pre-registration forms, they didn't get it.
