Is this really winter?

I'm on track to burn roughly 300 less pounds of coal this February vs. last, and roughly 1,000 lbs. less than February 2 years ago.

I haven't been paying any attention to it, but did the groundhog see his shadow? :?:

Warm spells will happen. I remember quite specifically the first year I burned coal, 6 years ago, we had 2-3 weeks in March with highs in the 70's and even a few days of 80's. I shut the furnace down for most of that duration.

I was selling hamburger and hotdog rolls like it was mid summer lol.

Starting to see a few plants bloom around here that don't usually bloom till 1st of April. The news is showing records from the 60s being broken.

Years ago when we had a really big garden, we would plant as early as possible. Many years we had all the spring plantings in by mid Feb.
Better early than late, especially peas. Snow won't hurt them, but heat will. It's also one way to get it to snow in March.
