COAL BIN Pics

Here's some pics of my indoor bin... Sized to accommodate 4 tons of rice plus a little "wiggle" room, total volume 168 Cubic Ft...
Bin lives in my garage just a few steps away from my Alaska Stoker Stove 2... Used to be against front wall of garage but moved it this year against the back wall, need to build a hopper for the coal delivery guy to "chute" into so for now I have to have it dumped on the garage floor and shovel it in... Not ideal but I gained some storage space by moving the bin, so no big deal... Just last week received my 4 ton delivery and took about 5 hours by myself to shovel and bucket load it all into the bin.... Bin is tied from front to back using 5/8" threaded rod in 4 places... Chute is removable when level gets down far enough that the coal won't flow any longer... Entire bin was built to be taken apart in complete sections without ever picking up a screw gun or other, just a few wrenches and a few hours later all the sections can be loaded on a pickup truck and taken to a new home!!! I only rent this drafty old barn so someday I'm gonna leave this dump and it's coming with me!!!

MURDOC1, that is an amazing coal bin. How well does that discharge chute work? Did you make everything yourself, including the discharge chute?

Thanks Larry!!! Yes, I built every last piece myself including the chute... Chute works great, just open the slide gate and let her rip!!! Chute itself is on a 45 degree angle and flows very very fast... Of course I will have to pull more coal to the front once the level dictates, but no big deal, I just wanted the bin to be completely closed off as much as possible for as long as possible, hence the chute...
