Nothing to write home about but I had to set up a little bin for 5 ton of buck. Rob has given me ideas that I need to try out this winter. Big blocks, palettes and cheap plywood. Justin is coming Monday.

I think the regular sized tote (275 gall) is just over 1 ton of anthracite.

Anthracite is about 40 cu ft per ton (your mileage may vary but not by that much). Hmm, what am I missing? OK, now I am reading your old posts. So you have added 2 totes to your 3 to 3.5 ton bin, yes? So I guess you are close.

and another thing .. in this video is the evidence of a poster (probably) picking up Lehigh with a tote in the back of his truck (17 secs in) ... sneaky ...
This was recorded by Clinton videos and they say it was not a tote just a solar reflection. The guy in the blue truck committed suicide later by burying his head in a pile of anthracite. Poster Lehighanthracite commented... it's not our fault that people around us just seem to die. As this is the 22nd person who has committed suicide this way, the FBI was called in. 126 agents poured over the evidence for 6 months and could find no evidence of wrong doing.

Just one more pic to keep the coalies amused. Justin just dropped off 5.35tons of buck into my 12x12 bin. If you are considering bin size this works out perfectly. A nice tight dump and run and bingo.

That and a stoker boiler would be the magnum opus, auger right into the pot and an auger set up for the ash going out...I wonder how a feed blower would handle coal for filling it...coalnewbie wrote: the hot line to the ultimate coal bin ----
