Subsidies need to vanish in this country as well. Socialist Motors needs to learn to survive on its own.

A prediction: Remove all government subsidy from Tesla and Tesla buyers, and Tesla is bankrupt and out of business within not more than 6 months.

Tesla produced 260 cars in the last quarter. Not bad for America's largest (by stock valuation times the number of shares) automobile manufacturer.

but Goshen (near us) is putting in an electric charging station on Main St even though there is only 13 EVs registered in Orange County. So if any of you come to see us we can recharge you. Stupid is as stupid does ...

Sounds like the auto twin of the housing bubble. Sooner or later people stop buying it to the hype.

Perhaps it is the beginning of the end for a company that is soaking us with its "welfare for the rich" subsidies.

Not just Tesla ... ^^^ at least the Elio motors people seem to have a sense of humor

Surprised to hear less than 300 cars produced last QUARTER .

I have noted that when fed. tax credit is exhausted the price of the vehicle lowers immediately by about the same amount.

I have bought my last 3 vehicles with fed. tax credit and last one with a state rebate program too... so I have 2 non-plug-in hybrids and one Chevy Volt. My next one? Maybe hydrogen.

How many members have bought cars with a fed. tax credit applied to them?

All these ideas all interesting technologies though. Trouble is true hydrogen or electric cars can only be used as second vehicles. As the Volt/hybrid cars have engines they do not count.

Don't look now, but Tesla is using your massively US government subsidized tax dollars to build a car factory in (drum roll please)...

China is a massive market for EV so Musk is just being smart. As long as our tax dollars are not going there. The EV fad appears to be waning here. So after electricity, hydrogen, CNG, propane, SEG and God knows what else... the next craze will be gasoline.

Our little village just joined in.

The Village maintenance crew recently resurfaced half of one of the public parking lots.

Last night I was cutting through that lot from the food store and I noticed a strange glowing green panel on top of a post at the curb between two parking spaces. At first I thought it was a parking meter, but as I drove by I could see it was a two-car charging station.

The only two cars still parked in the whole lot were parked in the two spaces in front of it. But, neither car was an electric. Maybe the car owners were protesting the "green movement" ?
