Another successful recovery after a 54 hour burn. I added 70 pounds total, broke down like this -
45 pounds stove size on bottom
18 pounds nut size layer
7 pound blanket of fines on top

Picture was taken after shake and rake before loading.

Just recovered the fire after a 68 hour burn lol, that's a new record for me on a single load. Last tending was Friday evening around 7:00pm and then shake and load today (Monday) around 3:00pm. Just a few hours shy of a full 3 days  .... Although, I did have a situation yesterday with a draft failure. There was a quick hard shower that I think sucked some heat out of the chimney and it was very humid with 75 degrees OAT. The lighter humid warm air with the chilled chimney was just enough to send the draft going the wrong way. Not by much though, It was right around 0 to +.005 "wc. It did go unnoticed for a little while, I had a CO detection of 30 ppm that vanished quickly with the windows open as soon as I recovered the draft. To do that, I just opened the ash door and flossed the grates from underneath. The draft went negative in about 3 to 5 minutes. After that I kept the draft diverter door open (direct mode) and the draft held steady at -.02 to -.03 after that event.

The next 4-5 days are showing mid 50's for highs and mid 30's at night so a little more burn time... :D Currently the cold front is blowing thru, pretty severe winds and tornado sightings in nearby towns..

One of the signs that it's time to check the batteries in the CO detector. :D

It took me a little study, but yeah, I see the camel, I think... or horse? Looking left to right, the head, then the two flames jetting towards the bottom are the front legs. The body starts out just in front of the front legs then continues past them, towards the right. Am I seeing it warmin?

That is exactly what I see everytime I see it until I realize its a flame. The camel because of the bump below its neck. For whatever its worth I always see things in pics others dont. Show me a family photo and I'll see the fly on someones face right before anything else  Its been a long winter!
