Update , burning gale coal

PostBy: Dave 1234 On: Thu Apr 27, 2017 6:24 pm

Last week I picked up about 400 Lbs. of Gale coal from fithg. It is large buck in size, It's burning very nicely, low ash (best I have used so far). I had to back off on the air setting,it falls off the ring nicely, tan in ash color. Hard to say on heat, but the cycles seam good.

I made the pilgrimage to that years ago in my Kodiak. 5.3 tons, nice coal, no fines and a really nice experience. The place did appeared to be very modern for a coal mine to me.

Yes, very good coal. I believe it was Jeddo #8, or something like that. Had a huge dragline bucket at the entrance.

You only got 400# ???? Or should that say 4,000# ?? I really like the large rice I got from Gale, have burnt somewhere around 30 ton of Gale coal so far. I am very happy with the rice & the nut from them.I was able to back off the air on the stoker & my handfed stove.

TOPIC ALERT : I can't recall seeing any posts about Gale coal on the Lehigh thread, can't see why there has to be posts on a Gale thread about other coal, especially this crap of constantly telling someone to go somewhere else but Gale for coal.I get no royalty from Gale & make no profit by speaking well of my experience with their coal,BUT,i will always stand up & fight for the right of the underdog. Those who keep steering folks away from Gale need to try some Gale coal & then maybe you can tell us your experience with it.

Do you recommend this place because it is owned by a forum member ?

Gale coal is owned by forum member fifthg. What is wrong with supporting a forum member who happens to sell very good coal ?

Dave, thanks for sharing your experience. Burning through the warm weather favors a different kind of coal than the bitter cold.

I actually prefer coal from the Western side of the field for the summer.

Happy Saturday all !

WH , Rob, Jack. It's been a busy week so I had little time to reply. .......... Yes WH it was a 400 lb trial load. I know that sounds crazy but I wanted to meet fithg and see his coal. When first cut of hay is over I'll have a tt brought up. Rob , I have such a tall center house chimney that almost any coal will work here. Jack, thanks for the tip, but my son and I really enjoyed our meet an great with fithg so after burning his product for a week now and really liking it I'm sold.

Good guy, clean coal , board member, price is what I want to pay. All good !

Thank you all for your responces.
