Coffee 5-13-17

Good day! This Spring sure is slow in coming, but it won't slow us up at the coffee house. Come in, find a seat & share a folktale...or keep quiet & listen! Who was it said "Never miss a good opportunity to keep your mouth shut!" The coffee is good 'n hot, breakfast sandwiches are at the ready. You get your choice of bacon or sausage, but you're all getting 'em on a grilled Thomas English muffin. Let's eat!

It seems every human must now have a smart phone. I figured I'd always be the last person to get one. Day before yesterday my good ol' flip phone took a dive & I had to do something. I got an LG G5. It was a third the price of "smarter" phones, but I don't see what throwing an extra $500 at it would accomplish. This one does the one thing I wanted.... I can speak to it and it will type a text. Cool technology! It's a V-8 with 445 horsepower and gets 55 MPG. Yaaaaa... I think that's what they said. ;)

Today: Unclog Cuz Chris's sink, and put a new 007 pump on my water heater. Always something!
Still letting the coal boiler run. 38 degrees outside right now.

Hug your loved ones & forward we go!

Good morning Freddy, I'm about the same as you phonewise, now I've come to the realization that I carry my wife's back up phone. Once hers wears out she grabs mine & forwards her calls to it. I probably have one of the most unused phones in existence, use it to take a pic once in awhile but if it does ring it either scares me or I don't hear it. There are rumors of a warm up this week but we'll see, gotta go pick up what they call the voter bag with all the election crap for Tues., my wife will have one more election after this & then her term is finally up, we still think they just snuck two years on because they can't get people.
Hope all are safe & have a good week!

Just enjoying a quiet morning by the fire with the dog drinking the last of the Guatemala Gasha coffee, it's very smooth but more like tea then coffee so no more for me after it's gone, got my wife a new sun visor for her Toyota, complete vehicle detail and a massage for Mother's Day , funny how gifts change as you age  she's been wanting all three of those things for awhile.
Ok friends have a great weekend and upcoming week, happy Mothers Day to all you Moms  take care!!

Morning all,

Freddy, great sandwiches! FF how about some pics of the wheel horse in action. Not much happening today. I am actually going to try to take it easy this weekend. My cycling friends came by yesterday and we went for a quick 40 mile ride. It was a very fast ride. Almost lost fire in all of the 507's yesterday. Probably the change in the weather caused them to almost flame out. I hope everyone have a safe and productive weekend.

Morning all,

Don't know if you saw it or not Freddy, but I slipped in a little venison sausage into the pile. Thought some would like it on their muffins. It definitely adds a little flavor and is probably a little healthier due to the less fat.

Pouring crazy here. Been raining since at least 3:00 AM. Hopefully it fills up the cisterns around the farm so I have plenty of water to carry me through the garden season. Raining so off to the shop I went. Can't do anything outside so maybe I can get a little done at the shop. Been crazy here the past several weeks.

72 huh Fred ??? Not too shabby. It's just a number right ???? But then the old body has a way of reminding you in a big way !!!

Finally getting the '68 charger ready for paint. Customer at the last minute decided to replace the rusted cowl panel. I agree as we could not get in between the slots to fully address the rust pits. And then we are painting it Ford's Black metallic. So the panels now have to be straight as possible because black shows any flaws. But it will be Purdy as hell when done.

Next project is already here......... A little teaser for the car guys on here:

Oh, but what is under the hood you ask ??? Supposedly delivers 500+ hp.

Customer sanded the car himself. I asked what grit paper he used and he stated "Oh, I used the fine stuff. I think it was 100 grit." So it looks like we have quite a bit of sanding to do as my final sanding before paint is 500 grit or finer. And this will be getting a red metallic applied to it.

Enjoy the weekend folks.

Good morning all,

Happy birthday to you FF! If I'd have known I'd have baked a cake.

We don't have much on the schedule for today - it's raining again. It's supposed to be clear for Mother's day though. We don't have anything planned for that either.

We are going to see the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie later. I don't know why since everyone and their uncle will be there, too. My saving grace is that we will be in the non 3D showing since I'm one of the few who cannot watch 3D without getting sick. There are usually a lot of seats left in the non 3D showing for some reason. :)

I hope everyone has a great day, take care, Lisa
