I run a Stihl 029 farm boss with 16" bar, 91 octane non-E gas, cheapest two stroke oil mix you can buy at wal mart, along with the cheapest bar oil at wal mart, clean it once or twice a year, never run it out of gas or anything, very good tough saw.

Ah hell, I will jump in. I used to cut wood for a living every winter....almost..called keeping the wolf away form the door downeast... My dad ran Homelites for years, my brother went into professional logging and ran Jonsered while they were popular....then we went over to Husqvarna up until the present. I had a Sachs Dolmar at one time, great saw until I ran over it with a 1953 2 1/2 ton army truck.......Bottom line is all the companies make a great saw, just get one in professional grade. The big box stores negotiate with companies to make cheaper(just as good as) everything. They are cheaper......my Husky 61 has been running for 30 years and is a great saw, my brother ran the 261,266, 270+ lines and they are great except for the gas problems with ethanol. I realize you are looking for cheap and light and limited use but you get what you pay for with chainsaws....

LOL Fred, mine was lengthened by welding another frame to it and would hold over 2 cords of wood. probably 2 1/2....also had the original winch on the front driven by the pto off the transfer case. The motor was all original an even the wipers and lights etc. still worked......gotta love those vacuum driven wipers....I had her up to 60 on Rt. 1 between East Machias and Whiting, Me moving to another lot back in the 80's. Had new chains on the 2 driven rear axles and other then one winter when it snowed 6 ft. it went wherever I pointed it...... ;)

Isn't Av gas still leaded? Don't a lot of newer saws have cats in the muffler?

Well the great chainsaw crisis has been averted, stopped to see Mr Saw Wiz. It cost me $5, I gave him $10 and runs like a champ now. Got a jug of StarTron, an enzyme based ethanol treatment that should treat 256 gallons (I should live long enough  ) for $20 @ TSC.

Almost spent $450 on a new Husky.
