I have a Modern Glenwood F cookstove. I live in southern Maine, and I need to buy coal in bags. Does anyone know where I can find anthracite by the bag in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont?

Where can I find rice coal around Madison, WI?

Advanced Chimney Systems - Rockford, IL, Bossert Fireplace - Mineral Point, WI. These two places sell bagged Blaschak around $300/ton. Hope this helps you out.

Closest place to you is Advanced Chimney Systems http://www.advancedchimney.net in Rockford, IL. They have Blaschak rice at $6.50/40# bag. It was $6, but it went up on the last shipment.

I heard there was a place up in Ripon that had coal, but I'm not sure about what they have, etc.

Victory Ridge Enterprises in Ripon has bagged Reading and Reading stoves. I forgot about him. Last I talked to him (maybe mid-Jan) he was out of coal, and didn't think he was getting another shipment this winter. Blashack has another dealer in New Holstein. I don't have his name offhand, you would have to get if from their office. He told me the same thing around the same time: All he had (nut and pea only- didn't do me any good anyway) was spoken for, and wasn't getting any more in. I remember that he was very hard to get hold of.

Lookg for a source of coal in the PLATTSBURGH, NY 12901 area of Clinton County. Quebec is ok too if it is below Montreal as is extreme NE Vermont aournd Alburgh or St Albans area. Have Pickup can haul my own. I am deciding if it is worth my effort and expense to buy a coal boiler. Thanks.

I live in downstate NY and am looking for good prices on bagged rice coal in PA. I'll be making a trip this summer to pickup several tons. I also may be interested in a tractor trailer load but I have to figure out where to store in on the property without having the town make me remove it.

The closest source for bulk coal is Rockhill Coal Co. in Malone. There is a stove shop in West Chazy called Heat Wave that sells Blaschak rice and nut coal by the bag. The only other place I've heard that has bagged coal is in St.Albans, Wright Family Farms. I have only purchased coal from the store in West Chazy, so I'm not sure what sizes the others carry.

Scott,

Shouldn't have to travel far. Northeast Coal, Ledge Rd, Pelham, NH carries bagged and bulk. Will deliver both. This time of year he will only have bagged Blaschak in various sizes. $6.00 per 40lb bag. Perhaps less per bag by the pallet load. I bought two bags of nut several months ago for sampling purposes. He operates out of his small house and barn.

There is also a stove shop on RT 111 in Windham. It is in a strip mall not far from I-93. I suspect they have coal but can't guarantee.

I presume you saw in Craigslist that there is a Coal dealer near Worcester, MA who is selling his business. He has a customer list, equipment, and maybe some coal. He wants around $15,000.

Wardner, Thanks for info, I was told by Stanley iron works (restores old stoves in Nashua) that there is no good source of coal in my area. He said the only stuff he could get burned like gravel so he switched to wood. I did find a place in Braintree MA called Williams but that is too far for me to drive and I can only carry a ton at a time. I will try the place in Pelham. Thanks for the info.

Did you ever get the coal in Pepperall? She was only 5 minutes from my house and said I could pick it up one night but ended up in the hospital for 3 days that afternoon with anaphylactic shock. Needless to say I never went.
