This weekend, my wife picked up something at the flea market that she thought would look cool as a decoration here at the farm. We have been trying to figure out what on earth it is, but have not been able to figure it out yet. I thought maybe someone on the forum may have an idea.

Looks like a baffle for a farm heater, gramps had something similar that went into a pot for his coops with chicks.

No, that is the bottom (or maybe the top) of it.

I was thinking it might be sizing something myself but I can't resolve how that could possibly work. For each scenario I come up with the holes are the wrong way.

Looks like it heats or cools whatever is in the jug. Fill the jug and set the whole thing in a pot of boiling water, or cold water. The holes let the water circulate all around the jug. Would the different size holes improve convection to circulate the water better?

Maybe it is how folks kept their hot toddy hot. :eh:

I still haven't a clue what that thing is. To me, it looks like a giant candle holder. :?:

Google has a lookup where you give it an image to search for. But all it told me about this was, "Best guess: cookware or bakeware." Then it gave me a bunch of ads for cookware and bakeware.
