F.D.R. for taking an approach for the people. Not the start of social security but the programs that kept people fed during the depression. :) Scott

In my area, alot of the WPA stonework from the '30s is still present and intact. My father has a 200 foot stretch of stone curbing still in good condition; one of the last examples along the local road.

Exactly. He held the office of President with respect and dignity, focused on the job and not what he felt he could get away with as President.

My vote is for JFK for keeping a cool head during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He very possibly saved the world from destruction!

The best presidents make all their decesions based on what's best for the American people. If not, they'd at least let them vote on it. Funny, I don't remember voting on the decesion for invading Iraq........... Oh, in answer to the question before I get into more trouble is, all the ones in my wallet

He sure did. I read that he would put his suit on ANYTIME he entered to Oval Office. Even if it was 3:00am. He said that the office deserved that respect. We all know how much Clinton respected that office.... (ie Monica) ;) .... That just shows the class difference between the two men....

History will say that we underestimated George W Bush.

"four great facts will emerge that will place Bush in a far better light than he currently enjoys.
The overthrow and execution of a foul tyrant, Saddam Hussein; the liberation of the Afghan people from the Taliban; the smashing of the terrorist networks of al-Qa'eda in that country and elsewhere and, finally, the protection of the American people from any further atrocities on US soil since 9/11, is a legacy of which to be proud."

I have a slightly different take on his historical significance:

Worst President (by far) in the history of our nation.

Most dangerous man (to our American way of life) to have ever lived.

Other than that, we agree! :D

"four great facts will emerge that will place Bush in a far better light than he currently enjoys....LOL
The overthrow and execution of a foul tyrant, Saddam Hussein; The world is full of tyrants. Do we kill them all at great cost to this nation & for no benefit?

the liberation of the Afghan people from the Taliban; The Taliban is re surging & getting stronger daily because we got distracted in Iraq.

the smashing of the terrorist networks of al-Qa'eda in that country and elsewhere ..Our own intelligence shows that Al Quieda is actually stronger now than pre 9/11.

and, finally, the protection of the American people from any further atrocities on US soil since 9/11, is a legacy of which to be proud." ....No Al Quieda attacks between 1993-2001 Does Clinton deserve credit for that? (no.....just as GW Bush deserves no credit for the fact that this planet has not been struck by a giant asteroid.....We have actually created more enemies under GW than we have killed/captured/flipped.

Long time since we have crossed swords spc...Hope all is well with you.
