Where will we be in 5 years?

Hummm...lets' see.....a garden in every moderate to low income yard, people go back to canning, Havahart Trap Co. has double digit growth, the right lane of highways is dedicated for scooters and motorcycles under 150 cc, funeral directors are in demand (scooter deaths), heating oil is ~12-15 bucks, I'm otta a job at the jet engine manufacturer cause no one is travelling anymore, I now sell coal stoves doing energy assessments, air is still free..... so far..... anything else ?

You forgot high taxes to pay for the deficit spending on the war plus the sky rocketing cost of Medicare, the Medicare drug benefit, Social Security and the growing veteran benefits. It's not a pretty picture. Depending how the next President hands these issues issues, there might also be staggering unemployment benefits to pay. And one candidate says I'm still learning about economics!

Interesting question. If I were to attempt a prediction it would be the exact opposite of what would happen. Who knows what the future has in store, five years from now could be the best of times, the worst of times, or not much different times. I try to be as self sufficient as I can no matter what, live life as it comes and keep that one bullet saved "in case of emergency" and it's time to check out.

Can I be the purveyor of NepaEnergy? I propose at least 65% efficiency meaning 65% of the time I'm somewhere and 35% of the time I'm somewhere else?

This is way too much fun for a coal forum.

I accept the nomination, but I'd rather be either the "Minister Of Pointless Anxiety" or "The Minister Of Yuengling". :D
