Where were you getting this price?

Thanks,

I paid 300/ton bagged for rice in MD Annapolis area. I have been burning coal two years now an my house is so warm and confortable now. The wife is very happy. I think that the cost is going to be going up on coal as OBAMA's budget is including CAP and TRADE that will effect carbon polluters like us. So you may start working on a multi year purchases this year as you may be saving thousands over the year to year buys. Me personally I'm considering getting 22 tons and fencing it up in the yard . I go through 3 tons per year. I have gotten quotes this past sumer for about 158 per/ton delivered but you need to buy a full truck of 22 tons.

bulk or bagged
delivery or pickup
delivery cost
total amount of coal purchased

this all makes a difference

As noted on the first post:

It's just too complicated for a simple poll but its the best I can do for now.

I'll see if I can make time for setting up a more in depth page this year, there's actually much more than that I want to include such as location, square footage on your house, stove model, primary or supplementary heat... All kinds of data but I'm a one man band so I'll get to it when I get to it.

Maybe we should start importing Anthracite Coal

http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/internationa ... able52.xls

Production in the USA is non-existent compared to other country’s production, look at China's and Vietnam's production . Maybe Walmart will start bringing it in from China with everything else....

Just remember they do not sell Rice coal. They are open til 5 PM weekdays or Saturday, Sun to 2 PM and are really nice people. The store is fantastic. It has lots of great items, everything from Kitchen, lumbar to coal!

Blaschak Coal bagged. Called Blaschak to get a list of dealers within 45 minutes of Flemington, NJ.

They said they would deliver to Flemington, NJ for a $40 ball park delivery fee for one or more pallets, depending on the price of gas.

Just got 2 tonnes nut delivered here in NEOH for $223 + sales tax (welcome to Ohio). Twenty-five dollars less than February pricing, and it's from an allegedly better breaker.

Noob here! Here in northwest Pa I can only find anthracite at two places, both amish. Blaschack nut for $315 a 2400# pallet at Byler's Heating or $330 a 2400# pallet at Schwartz's Country Store. I can't find any bulk nut coal around here. I haven't bought any yet since I just put a deposit on a Ashland stove. It's an amish stove? Seems well built like a Hitzer. I'll find out! ;)

Paid 366 per 1.25 ton for Kimmle rice coal in 50 lb bags in Cobleskill, NY. They charge 35 for delivery which is not that bad considering they actually unload and stack the bags by hand. Can get it cheaper in Madison county NY on route 20 for 6.69 a 50 lb bag but that's quite a haul for me. Anyone know a cheaper place in the Albany/Schenectady area of NYS?

I just got a call from my local coal dealer. They are taking $20/ton off their regular (high) price of $327 for the months of May, June and July. This is from a dealer that has not offered summer pricing for almost 5 years.
He has been using Blaschak as his source

Has demand dropped?
Has anybody else seen any price decreases?

Ask him if the coal from the left-overs from last year's pile. Its probably all the fines on the bottom. He may be making room for his new load to arrive.
