Center Farms is up in Easton. They backhaul coal from PA, so they do pretty good. They carry Blashak, but I don't know if they do Blashak for loose coal as well. They haul on flatbeds. When hauling bulk, they put up a sidekit. Back in Easton, they pull up the sides and let the coal spill off. A loader scrapes the bed clean, the truck pulls out, and the loader consolidates the pile.

I'd bet you did fine on price. There's no way around the freight cost to get the coal to Maine, no matter who hauls it, and you bought straight from the breaker. Plus, how would you have taken the delivery? You were better off with Double Run's dump trailer.

A Keystoker owner told me that the rice buck mix would work better for warm weather DHW heating. I do plan on running my boiler year round

Wellllll, You know.... Now that you describe them.... I just may have talked to Center Farms. I was given a name & phone number & called early in my efforts. The problem for me was that they do not dump full loads. I had no way to unload it. They seemed like good people, just what I'd expect from the County. Surely if you're North of Millinocket you'd be smart to call them...maybe even if you're South and needing less than a full load or bagged.

That's good but as long as the timer is set correct you should not have any problem burning buck straight with no outfires
but it will throw off more heat so mixing it with Rice will keep the temps down for summertime use you will be good

I'm getting three skids at $337 per skid (1.2 tons; $281 per ton) with $80 delivery fee for a 60-mile round trip for bagged Blaschak nut. That's the price for what the dealer has in stock (180 tons). The next batch will cost more (the dealer didn't say how much more). The delivery fee is less if I can wait until the dealer has other deliveries to make in my immediate area (fine by me!). The dealer didn't say for sure, but I would guess that if he had two deliveries, we'd each pay $40; three deliveries would be $27 each, etc.. My area is west of Albany, NY. After calling around to the two other Blaschak dealers within 35 miles, this one was the best. The other two want $350/skid (pick-up only) and $354/skid w/ $100 delivery.

$190/ton from my local supplier. Just filled the bin this morning.

I just had a some delivered this past week to get a head start on the upcoming season. It was up about $5 from my last delivery back in April. Cost $150/ton (rice).

Live in Southern Ohio was buying out of Van Wert paid 315.00 per skid 2400 lbs or 60 - 40lb bags, called today and the price is the same but now they want 325.00 to deliver it also !! Grrrr that aint happening , there was no charge last year to deliver , and I know fuel has gone up but HELLO not that much !! does anyone know of anyone in my area that sells it , I did find one close to me ( Warren County Lumber ) and am waiting for a reply , Will keep you informed as soon as I hear back from them . I am looking for 8 skids this year !!

This will be my third year burning coal. I love it.
I recently found a new place to get coal; they told me the just recently got into the business.
I just picked up 2 tons of Rice coal loose at Mulholland Enterprises, LLC for $249.00 per ton.
They are located in Greenfield Center, NY 12833 it's about 30 miles north of Albany and 5 miles west of Saratoga Springs.
They also deliver put I don't know what they charge.
They were pretty good to deal with.

I just bought 3.6 tons of bagged coal, paid $1,124 (180 bags at $6.25 per bag)

I picked it up so there was very little cost for delivery.

I paid $5.25 per bag last year. My supplier said that they might get more coal in Oct, but probably Nov. Glad I got it now.

$6.25 is high, but living in a major city (Pittsburgh, PA) I don't have the ability to have a tri-axle dump a few tons I wish I could. I see some of the coal bins you guys have and I would love to have one. But city life is where I'm at, but off the grid is where I'd like to be.

Just bought 3 tons of rice at $259 a ton delivered. This in in Waverly, NY area. Price is up 33% from last year when I paid $195 a ton but I am glad I'm not buying fuel oil at $4.299 a gallon! At that price it would cost $2321.46 for the same amount of btu's.

Waiting to hear from Williams Coal in Marshfield

Just picked up 3 Tons today. The price was $226/Ton (100lb Bags) in Candor NY.

Just picked up a ton of buckwheat from UAE. They are now up to $145 a ton as of today. There is a 2 ton limit on all sizes per week and availiability of certin sizes is very short.

Just bought a pallet of kimmels stove for $260 a ton/ $325 for 1 1/4 ton. Picked up in ephratah N.Y.
Called another supplier in Fort Plain N.Y. no stove, nut is largest (Blashak) and going for $380 a pallet 1.2 tons and Local Agway in Johnstown N.Y. no stove, nut is largest (Blashak)$289. a ton.
