That is absolutely true. In 1974 Coal was that cheap and no one wanted Coal and there was not enough profit for the Coal Miners and Coal Breakers to stay in business... That is why when I grew in the late 60s and early 70s there were 12 Coal breakers within 10 miles of my parents house and Now there is one small breaker!Recently priced stove coal in York, PA and it runs $200/ton and $60 for delivery. Ouch! I used to buy stoker coal in 1974 for $32/ton. It was half that at the mine. daveh17322
