Gaw, I cannot see anything which would be damaged by welding the existing coil plate as a permananent seal to the back plate. I have a local welder who will look it over and have the final say on that unless Stokerman or anyone else cautions against permanently damaging the coil.
Stokerman, thanks for the plate so tell me what that plate costs? Are the studs shown in the picture part of the plate so the coil can be reattached? How best to remove the previous studs, tap them out or grind them down? How to order the new plate and what is the part number?
