Please do your homework. The Alaska Challenge Youth Academy was put in its own budget category so the original program's funding dropped.

As for cutting funds to the "home for unmarried, pregnant teenage girls" and comparing that to Palin's teenage daughter...I would have a problem with that if she kicked her daughter out of her house...however, I feel the Palins will be helping their daughter instead of forcing her to seek help from publicly funded wayward homes. I am the same, if my daughter becomes pregnant out of wedlock, I will support her until she can fully care for herself and child...no matter what it takes.

Do you have any good official sites or info pertaining to this cut in funding other than far left (The Huffington Post) blog sites? I can't find any unbiased...independent fence riding sites reporting on this. Would sure love to see an unbiased report on why she made those cuts or if she actually did. Blogs to me are rumors and hold no weight. Just like the above link there are 2 sides to everything (especially in blogs)...somewhere in the middle is the truth. I can't find any good substatiated evidence on why she actually made those cuts. Could it be that teen pregnancy is way down? Could it be that there was unnecessary spending going on for years and was finally slashed? 20 years of military tells me that there could have been some wasteful spending.

Where they got the figures, I have no idea but they are pretty careful about stuff like that for lawsuit reasons.

I personally heard Solidad O'Brien(sp) report it at least twice today on CNN

It was genius of McCain to pick Palin. The opposition will be unable to resist using blatant sexism against her, and that can only help expose the hypocracy of the left.

I read a good retort we can say to the people who say "Palin is bad because McCain might die while in office and Palin will be president".

I disagree. She had been hammered all week and if she did not come out swinging she would have looked like a patsy, to soft, "like a women", a push over with out the toughness needed to run the country. I was totally shocked at how well she did. Think what that would be like with most of the country watching, for your first time in the lights. Would you not have a bit of a trickle down your leg?

Her target audience as not "Manly Men" from an Anthracite Coal Forum.

She was chosen to appeal to women in general & to try to pick off some Hillary supporters in particular. My opinion is that her toughness, while possibly appealing to men, will work against her with women. Most women that I know, do not consider toughness a major attribute to admire in other women. They may admire it in men, but not in women. We'll all see soon enough, won't we?

Where did you hear that? CNN, MSNBC, PBS ? All such cable news is losing viewers at an alarming rate and will soon be off the air. Then all you'll have to listen to will be "fair and balanced".

She didn't try to make herself anything more than she is. She's the real deal. She's what you'll get.

I read that the media loved her speech. I listened to some of it and I liked what she had to say. I would vote for her in a second if she was running for president instead of MCcain. I like Obama too but he is a wind bag who goes over every word that comes out of his mouth. He's a little too slick for me.
