I read on one post that Summit coal out of the Mammoth vein breaks and splinters easy. Is this inferior coal? How does it burn? Thinking of getting 24 ton from Summit soon. Would this be a mistake?

I just had delivered this morning to Western Massachusetts 24 ton of Summit coal. While I cannot speak to its quality at this time, I can tell you that I was told that Summit coal is going up $20 per ton beginning July 7, 2008. Just thought you might want to know if you were not aware of this.

From everything I've always read on this forum the coal at Summit is very good. It's a mix of red and white ash. The lady who runs the place, Candy, is very friendly and helpful.
