new stove, new member

Hi follks, been reading this forum for about a week and think this is a great place with a wealth of info! Just ordered a Hitzer 503 and feels like I have taken a step toward energy independence. Now the foreign oil interests won't be dictating to me not nearly as much. I have previous anthracite experience, in my first house we had a Surdiac gothic type, can't recall the model. In fact, it's in the cellar at home...no room for it in this house. I should probably put that for sale someplace soon, maybe there's still a demand for it. Anybody know? So I'm looking forward to learning from you fine folks and hopefully have information to contribute as well. I'm in central Mass. Have a nice 4th everybody!

If your old Surdiac is still functional and in decent shape, it will sell easily.

Glad to see another Hitzer owner joining these forums. I have been very pleased with my 30-95 puchased this past February. :discuss:

Top of the line current production stoves are getting top dollar and are hard to find, they are sold in a few hours.
$200-300 on craigslist and it will be sold and they will gladly remove it from a basement.
If it burns anything other than oil it has value. I saw a Godin Petit for $3000 and a rust-bucket potbelly for $800.
