Dealers and Building codes in Long island, NY

Hi, We live in eastern Long island, NY and are interested in installing a Leisure Line coal stove. Are you aware of any local codes. Also, since you don't have any dealers locally, can we install ourselves? thanks

Call Rella coal and ask them. They are in Medford and would know the answer.

People at Rella coal will know, i was told it would be a 75 dollar fee and some paper work with the town but,as far as installing it myself .I would have it installed by a pro, my insurance company told me, that as long as it was being installed by a licensed person to take some photos and all paper work and show them it would not be an issue in case of fire. hope this helps, better to be safe then sorry. Hi,
I think you will find that local code rules. Go through the proper channels and be done with it once and for all. God forbid that something would happen and your insurance wouldn't pay because of some little thing.
