Hows' your area doing? In my area Northern NH the local stove dealers are out straight. Pellet piles are gone so are coal. Do you find your local dealers busy? I've gotten comments from different ones like "It's been so crazy" or "normally were sitting around doing nothing". Rumors also flying about not being able to get pellet stoves.

I have everything for the winter except the rest of my pipe to install a new chimmey. I ordered it from Lowes and hope they can deliver.

Most dealers I have talked to are looking at late November delivery on any stove/boiler/furnace that is ordered now. Pellet supply seems tight too. I have 5 stoves and 3 tons of coal stashed away. Classic rush on a product that every one has to have and if I can not get what I want I will choose something close to it. Similar to the wood stove craze in the 1970's. Should be an interesting fall and winter.

I burnt Coal for about 14 years in Onset,Ma. I still go to the Cape on business every 2 weeks. We used to get it from Iron House in Hyannis then HyWay Concrete in Wareham. Also my wifes uncle sold it in Brockton but I hated to make him come down and deliver so I didn't get much from him. HyWay used to deliver concrete products there in PA. and would bring back coal. They sold Stoves, also everything you can have to make chimmeys.

The news is still claiming prices going up this winter and locals here aren't sure what is going on with the "lock in price" of oil. Lot's of rumors for sure.

I have a 2000 sq ft house that is new and very well constructed. I have 2.5 tons now and I may get another to be safe.

I'm looking forward to buring coal again as I work in my cellar and often days I feel cold. I have a concrete floor with the hot water pipeing buried in it which is nice but last winter I would push the limits to the point of being cold because I didn't want the big fuel bill.

I will be warm this winter.

I got about 80,000 lb of Keystone retaining wall from them. Nice folks. Do you know if they still haul to PA.?

There was a recent article in the local papers here ( eastern CT) about how stove dealers are claiming record sales of wood and pellet stoves. No mention of coal....that's a good thing.

I'm thinking it's probably time to start loading up.

the dealer close to me said orders for coal stoves
(that he carries) are looking at a january delivery. so I decided on a different brand, Still several weeks. These units are still available probably because they are sooooow expencive. I bought 7.2 tons of coal right away because I too am concerned about future price @ availableity. If stoves go nuts so will coal.

I don't know what HYWAY's doing. I live in Northern NH now and don't get to them at all.

I have an order like I said at Lowes for Class A pipe due in tommorrow so the computer says. Like I said above I worry the pipe makers are backed up for months as well.

Hitzer was at about 6 weeks, might give them a try.
I hear you about the pipe but I bet there is more pipe than stove.

Southern Maine - Portland area - can anyone recommend an installer? Most everyone I've found through this forum is farther north and I suspect don't work down here. I'd like to go with the alternate heating systems stoker connected to my existing oil burner. I know they don't have a dealer in this area....

You might find their backed up a while. I tried 2 local guys who wouldn't come over to give me an estimate for selling and installing a SS chimmey that's why I'm doing it myself. They are getting jobs that people don't even question the price and are handing them a very blank check.
