Why?....Because there aren't any differences & you guys know it!

1 Question for my education....Bush vs McCain....of the two, who was for the Iraqi Surge and who was against it in the beginning? Then add Obama into the same question.

there are very clear major differences between Obama's plans/ideas & McCain/Bush.

Iraq....I agree with McCain and disagree with and don't believe Obama....McCain gets my vote
Health care...I don't totally agree with Obama....McCain gets my vote
Abortion....I disagree with both (although my faith says I should agree with McCain)....No one gets my vote
Energy policy....McCain gets my vote
If *censored* hits the fan with Iran...(hey, that rhymes... :) ) I rather McCain be my CinC than the other possibility....

There you have it....if McCain is = to Bush well then I'd have to say if it was Obama vs Bush...I'd probably vote Bush....so I guess I'll be voting McCain....(pretty twisted ya know...and I didn't even take any meds this morning... )

I have no argument to try & sway someone who thinks GW Bush has done a good job for our country & was a good President. If you believe that, considering the economic & foreign policy mess we are in, then McCain is definitely your man!
(please consider my anti-McCain posts as not being aimed at you Mike, but rather aimed at any forum members who are not happy with the Bush Presidency & have a somewhat open mind about who are next President should be)

In regards to that question, I'll offer two opinions:

1. The "surge" is not the only reason why violence in Iraq is down over last year. It was more the result of the so called "Sunni Awakening" against Al Quida. The surge has failed miserably to attain it's stated goal: Iraqi Political Unification.

2. Any time you inject allot more US Forces into a conflict, the results will always be favorable for us. We have the best military forces the world has ever seen! ( a monkey would understand that!) Problem is, we can't afford to keep this pace up & what are we trading off to keep that money, men & material over in the Iraqi dessert? ( GI lives, health care, cancer research, our infrastructure, our economy. etc) It's just not worth it, IMO!

Yes that is exactly right all except the Bush comment...you still fail to realize that I don't blame Bush for our economic woes...I blame the U.S. Government. McCain is definitely for me because Obama is totally wrong for me. How do you choose? Let's see hmmmm....maybe I should vote for Obama because people say that McCain, being he casts votes in the Senate mostly along party lines, is the same as Bush. Well that (McCain = Bush) makes sense to some...for me it makes me laugh that people try to use that ploy. The alternative...I can vote for Obama who mostly abstains or is absent (true or false) and when he does vote, votes along a party's line that I don't agree with. It all adds up to voting for McCain.
I fully enjoy your courage to pursuede but the read the insults towards McCain between the lines doesn't work. Lack luster career? Even if he finished dead last in his class...at least he had the nuts to serve...so does his kid.
What career does Obama even have? He'll be a "yes" man to his party. A party I truly don't want to see having all the power.

Why can't someone take 20 seconds & write one sentence, like I just did showing the Bush McCain differences?

I took 20 and asked a question but you did not answer it. I take another 20 seconds and ask again.

1 Question for my education....Bush vs McCain....of the two, who was for the Iraqi Surge and who was against it in the beginning? Then add Obama into the same question.

We are all entitled to our opinions Mike & you are very clear in presenting yours. (I'll never argue with a man who likes strawberry over chocolate ice cream, there is no point)

I think I have a good sense of humor Mike but I find nothing humorous about someone who can look at the state of our economy, justice system, emaciated military, foreclosures, bank failings, energy prices, jobs going over seas, auto industry devastated, lack of universal health care & on & on & on......and say that they think GW Bush has been a good President, would vote for him again & will vote to continue his failed policies. I hope I haven't angered you too much Mike & like you as a person. I just totally disagree with you politically.

McCain was for the surge & Obama was against it. As I said: The surge has totally failed to achieve it's stated goal (Iraqi Political Unification) & is only partialy the cause of lowered violence in iraq. Thus, it hasn't been worth the cost to us in blood & treasure. Obama was right & McCain/Bush were wrong.

Once again a 20 second break to write a sentence to make a point...you asked for a difference between Bush and McCain...So I ask again....

You are dead wrong here Mike..........Strawberry is much better!! (a provable fact) :P

I must have misread you question b4 & missed the part about whether Bush or McCain was originally against the surge. (I thought you meant Obama) My understanding is that they were both always for it, but please feel free to enlighten me. :D
(In any case, it was GW Bush's plan & they have both been for it for (at least) most of the "Surge's" length, so they have both been mainly wrong, but I'll wait for your response as I have no clue where you are going with this question??)
Are you saying that Bush & McCain disagree over the effectiveness of the "Surge"?

Coffee!!!

I was told that Bush was against the surge at the beginning and McCain was part of the push for the surge. In other words if it was left to Bush the surge would not have happened and his final decision for it was due to the efforts of others convincing him.
IRT the question...this is the reason why I started the question with "For my education..."

Don't have time to research it right now Mike but I'm positive that the Surge idea came right out of GW Bush's White House as a last ditch, desperate attempt to calm the Iraqi situation down by a massive escalation of US Forces., to hopefully save Bush's legacy. They chose the cute name "Surge" as a verbal dodge to avoid using the more accurate name this tactic should have been given....."Escalation".
Bush listens to no one, the least of which would have been John McCain, who was all but written off as a viable Republican party nominee back then.
