what to use to clean your stove?

What u guys rec for cleaning the outside of the stove with?

I use plain water to do a wipe down.... and if rusty ..I use 00000 steel wool lightly...if that does not work...hi-temp paint....lol
Do not use stove polish...what a mistake...I buffed and buffed it off..then when heated....you got black all over you..then when heated up hot...it turned gray....then I found out it was made for cast iron stoves....
